What filters are available for digital SLR cameras and what effects do they have?

Hi,I did the following:

What filters are available for digital SLR cameras and what effects do they have? Are they effects better on a film camera? Are they interchangeable with a film camera as long as the lens is also?

The only thing digital about your camera is how the image is processed and stored.

SLRs store the image and then it is processed later.

The lenses and filters are the same.

Cokin has the most effects filters in their system.

I agree with fotoace. I use Cokin filters with my camera. Go to the website and you'll see the differences with each filter. I recommend diffusers and neutral density filters to start out with. Once you get your DSLR it will have options inside the menu that work like filters such as: starbursts, BW, Sepia, etc.
