should i buy a film camera or a digital slr camera?pros and cons of each?

which is best in each category? i just want a camera i can take all over and capture random moments of my life with, but not boring like a normal digital camera. i'd like the photos to be interesting. i'm looking at the canon rebel, nikon d90 and diana film camera. what do you suggest for ease of use and cool pictures? something i can get artsy with.
what's a good camera for lomography?

Maybe both. Used film SLRs are really cheap (I got my Nikon N90 for $ 35), and in some circumstances can use the same lenses as a digital, so you can use both for marginally more cost than using just one. Just make sure they use the same system (e.g. if you get a Nikon DSLR, then get a Nikon AF film SLR).

The best in film cameras are the Hasselblad H2F (~$ 9000), Canon EOS-1V (~$ 1800) and the Nikon F6 (~$ 2400).

The best in digital is Hasselblad H4D (~$ 40,000), Canon 1D Mark III (~$ 6500), and the Nikon D3x (~$ 7000). The prices listed for both film and digital are for the body only....no lenses.

Film- Captures highest amount of image details (when properly used), but has developing costs.
Digital- equipment costs more, but no developing costs.

Both can be manipulated and edited...film in the darkroom and digital with Photoshop (or other programs)

You say you don't want a "boring like a normal digital camera", but the cameras you listed are all "boring, NORMAL digital" cameras. In fact, the cameras I listed above are "boring normal" cameras. It is the photographer who makes the photos interesting NOT the camera.

Lomography is the commercial trademark of Lomographische AG using a Lomography camera such as http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/594707-REG/Lomography_580_Lubitel_166_35mm_Medium.html

If you meant casual, snapshot photography with over-saturated colors, off-kilter exposure, blurring, and light streaks, then any of the "toy" cameras such a Holga, Diana, and Blackbird should meet your needs.
