What is the relationship between the resolution and the number of frames per second for a digital camera?I know that this relationship for a camcorder is not linear but I could not find a mathematical relation between them.
I'd appreciate any comments on this.

The higher the resolution, the more data there is to process, so the frames per second is usually lower the higher the resolution.
But this problem is combated on some higher spec DSLR's by using faster processors and larger buffers where they can capture very high resolution files at 5 FPS.
