Does any digital cameras work with windows millenium anymore?I've had a sony cybershot that took a memory stick pro... i've had it for about a year or 2.. and then it broke. I've bought a kodak camera.. and a sony camera.. on the system requirements for the sony camera.. it said it would work with windows millenium. i've tried the software.. and it said i needed xp or better.. Is there ANY camera out there that is 200 and under.. and pretty decent that works for Windows ME anymore? Or any decent cameras that accept memory stick pro? please help. i've researched over the past few days and have't found anything.

Sony cameras are about the only cameras that use the Memory Stick. The most common memory card is the SD. You may want to look for a camera that uses the SD memory card.
Windows ME was a transitional OS from the old Windows OS to the newer NT technology that began with NT 3.1 in the early nineties.
It may be time for you to buy a new computer. All the new programs are optimized for XT or better OS's. Your OS is over seven years old.
I am a professional photographer and we have to update our digital cameras, computers and software about every three years. Digital photography is not at all cheaper for us. I can still shoot professional quality images with my old Nikon F4, yet my digital bodies need to be updated every three to four years because my clients require it.
By the way. You can always use Window Explorer to copy your image files from your cameras memory card to your computer. Using a card reader will eliminate a lot of Camera/OS conflicts.

The problem with WinME is that it does not come with software drivers to handle the USB connection to your camera. So you need a software CD that contains these drivers, so you can load them on your WinME pc. (But if your copy of WinME is an "upgrade" version, the drivers may not work.) (WinXP comes with standard drivers that handle the cameras.)
My Sony Cybershot cameras (as of 2005) came with CDs that have the WinME drivers, so I can connect the camera and download the pics. But the Image Mixer software will not run. But I can get along without that and do the download myself.
Try loading just the WinME drivers on the CD that came with your camera. If that loads, connect the camera to the computer with the USB cable, turn it on Review mode, and look for the camera "drive" in My Computer. It will appear to be a removable hard drive.
If you see the camera "drive", open your photo editing software and navigate to the folder on the camera drive that contains the pics. You should be able to open the pics and save them to your hard drive.
Another alternative is to buy an inexpensive card reader that comes with WinME driver software. Install the drivers, then connect the card reader with the USB cable. Now take the Memory Stick out of the camera and put it in the card reader. You should be able to find the pics just as described above for the camera connection.
As of 2006, Sony was converting to the Memory Stick Pro Duo model, which is smaller than the older MS Pro. So if you want another Sony to use your card, look for a 2005 or older model.
However, Memory Stick Pro prices have fallen dramatically. I got a 1 GB MS Pro Duo for $ 20 on sale at Office Max. So it is not a financial disaster if you have to buy a new card.
Good Luck
