Making an old digital camera compatable with Windows 7 question?I have an Olympus CEMEDIA C-3000 ZOOM digital camera, and just got a new computer that doesn't recognize it when I try to install it. It has a direct cable connection only (no removable 0.5 inch 'disk' like more recent cameras and camera phones). Is there drivers somewhere for it? Would the Windows 2000 drivers I found work? Please advise.

What I don't understand is...why get a brand new computer, but not a new camera? The Olympus C-3000 was released OVER 10 years ago! Time for an upgrade, I think.
Anyway...your camera DOES use a memory card (how else would it be able to store images?)...but it's only a crappy Smart Media (SM card). These were obviously outdated years ago.
The easiest solution for you (with absolutely NO software required) is to buy yourself a USB (multi) card reader that reads multiple types of memory cards...SD, MS, MS Pro, xD and SM, etc. I have a multi card reader and it accepts all these types of cards.
Then, all you have to do is remove the SM memory card from your old camera and insert it into the reader, then plug it into your computer's USB port.
Then look in...Computer...on your desktop. Your computer will see this reader as a removable drive/device and then all you do is copy them over to your hard drive. Voila...easy.
If I were you..I would be asking Santa for a new camera ;-)
