Best digital SLR cameras for begginers?I have narrowed it down between the Canon Rebel xs the Nikon D3000 and the Nikon D40 which are all around the same price range.
I am looking for a camera that is good for beginners are easy to learn. I have only used point and shoots and are not familiar with DSLR. I wont be taking pictures of anything specific pretty much anything I can use as practice.
Also what are must have accessories a new beginner needs?
And what are some tips for a beginner?
Thank you in advanced
Andy
I would suggest Canon Rebel XS 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens

They are all three excellent entry level cameras.
It might be prudent to buy the least expensive one and buy two lenses (18-55 mm and 55-200 mm lenses). When you have learned how to use it in three to four years and are ready for your next camera, you will have had the use of a second lens.
All three side by side.

You will need a UV filter for each lens you buy to protect the front element of each lens from possible damage
This happened to me and the lens hood and UV filter saved a $ 850 lens

Tips for beginners or anyone else.

I would definitely suggest the Nikon D-40. I bought one just about a year ago and I can hardly put it down. The Canons in my opinion are harder to work and a little bit more advanced while the Nikon is simple, and takes outstanding pictures. It really depends on what you are taking pictures on. If you do landscapes and nature, the Nikon. But if you are doing action shots for sports, go with the Canon.
