How good is a digital camera with a 3x optical zoom, and 10 megapixels?I wanted to get into digital photography as a hobby, so I decided to buy a cheap basic digital camera to start. However, I'm worried that the camera I got won't do very well. It has 3x optical zoom, 10.1 megapixels, I'm not sure how to tell how big the sensory is, and it has 4.5x digital zoom, but the digital zoom sort of sucks.
It's a GE digital camera.

There is much more to it than just zoom and megapixels. There are some very good cameras with these basic specs, and there are some that are basically garbage.
It would help more if you told us *which* camera you are asking about.
