Best Digital SLR Camera for a beginner?I've always loved photography and have used a Canon Rebel (film) camera before, but am just now beginning to truly study it in depth and understand more about this art. What would be a good (and hopefully relatively cheap) digital slr camera to start off with?
Thanks in advance :]

I started off with a Nikon d40 and it did the job perfectly.
You can also get it in a pack with either one or two lenses which is handy if you're just starting out.
And I think, as far as they go, it's relatively good value for money.

I wouldn't call myself a beginner in either film nor digital photography, but I have just ordered my first digital SLR. I am awaiting my Canon Rebel XSI in a package that includes an 18-55 mm zoom. (12.2 megapixel resolution)
The camera body alone can retail for nearly $ 800, but, online, there are several sources that can give you that same package for around and under $ 700.
The Cannon Rebel XS has a 10 meg camera for about $ 500 to $ 600 at these same sources. I think it has a similar lens combo.
Seems like online sources are MUCH cheaper than regular brick and morter retailers. Even Sears has them ON SALE for about $ 800.
Just be sure to buy from a trusted source.
