D40 Digital SLR Two-Lens Outfit (18-55mm & 55-200mm) Non-VR at RITZ for 549 a GOOD DEAL?Is it a good deal? ritz camera deal, 2 lens for 549 should I steal this or get a d40 body & 18-135 lens both used for $ 500?

i don't think it is, go to adorama and type in refurbished d60, they have one deal i know of that is body only for $ 330, then you can pick up a lens of your choice. if you really want the d40, i would look around, that still seems a little high.

Yes it is, I own a D40 and have owned both of those lenses (sold them to buy an 18-200mm VR) and was very happy with my set up, in fact the only reason I got rid of the lenses and bought the 18-200 was for bag space (I was carrying both of those lenses and a 35mm prime, way too much to lug around). Given the price difference I'd buy the new kit, you know for sure the camera has been treated well before you buy it and it comes with the factory warranty.
The sensor in the D40 is phenomenal for the amount you pay for it and is preferred by a lot of photographers over the D60, I played with both and was happier with the D40, so is Ken Rockwell.
