What kind of digital SLR camera is best for beginners?I've taken a recent interest in photography - I've always taken pictures with a normal digital point and shoot camera, but I really really want a beginner SLR camera, which can take really nice pictures but is reasonably priced. I don't know ANYTHING about SLR cameras, but the ones I've looked at so far are the Nikon D40, and the Canon Rebel, and the Pentax K110.... any advice?

Go with either canon or nikon
Personally i prefer the canon EOS digital Rebel 400d or xti (same thing)

Whatever you do, DON'T rush into buying a cheap one just because it's all you can afford. I've been looking for a while and still haven't committed to anything there are heaps out there. With SLR you also have to consider additional lenses.
Good Luck!

I use Canons. I like this brand because they are aggressive with their research and are first when it comes to new technology. They also have great lens's. You can either buy used or start with a basic digital body and then upgrade later. But do invest in a good lens as that lens will be good for better cameras to come. You can buy them used as well.
I buy most of my equipment from
